預かり仏像の修復

[ 08. 彫刻あれこれ ]

阿弥陀様の話題が続きます。
先日、現代仏壇を購入されたお客様から、
古いご本尊様を預かって、ちょこちょこ修復しています。

本尊は白檀、台座は六角ケマン座の京型で、
蓮華は彩色＋截金で、かなり良い物です。
そのまま台座を使うと背が高すぎるので、
台座を半分程度に縮めて、
お掃除→金箔繕い→組み立て→欠損したご本尊の左手を作る予定です。
蓮華も一枚一枚良く彫れているし、
修復のし甲斐がありますね。
完成の報告は5日後に。
